Water Quality
Oligomineral waters
Contain various mineral salts: sodium, calcium, magnesium, chlorine.
They are used as a drink to treat calculosis (stones) of the urinary tracts, chronic inflammations of the urinary tracts, and pyorrhoea gout.
They are also characterized by the presence of traces of heavy metals and the presence of a high quantity of dissolved gases.
They are NOT recommended in the treatment of chronic nephritis, hypertension, kidney failure or coronary decompensation
The oligomineral waters are the best to drink and help "deep clean" the kidneys.
Mineral waters
In this group are included the most known ''healing waters''. So, given the variability salt concentration, the assumption for a precise therapeutic purpose, should be done directly under a physician's supervision, in order to avoid the improper use and the appearance of undesired affects.
Mediomineral waters
The majority of these waters are rich in bicarbonates.
They have a fixed residue that varied from 0.2 to 1 gram for liter
(the fixed residue is the quantity of mineral salts dissolved in a liter of water).
Their action is the same of the oligomineral waters, although the diuretic effect decreases progressively with the increasing of the fixed residue.
Classification based on the saline composition
Saltwaters or sodium chloride waters
Mostly contain sodium chloride. Some of them have sulphate sodium and bicarbonates of sodium, calcium and magnesium. Administrated mostly as a drink.
Sulfured Waters
They contain zolfo in different combination. Those who contain hydrogen sulfates are characterized for the unpleasant smell of rotten eggs. They are administrated by drink, in balneotherapy (immersion baths), in muds. The sulfured waters ditoxicate the skin as a natural cosmetic.
Administrated as a drink, but also in muds and rectal irrigations(colonics) . "Cleans" the liver and benefits skin and hair.
Suitable for: respiratory, osteoarthritis, Gout, gynecological illnesses and peripheral blood vessel disorders.
Arsenical Waters – ferruginose
These waters contain large amount of iron and traces of arsenic. They are administrated by drink, in balneotherapy (immersion baths), in muds. They are also loaded with natural rejuvenating compounds and excellent as skin cosmetics .
Suitable for: side effects of anemia, lymphatic diathesis, skin illnesses.
Bicarbonate Waters
They come from waterfall rocks and contain mostly bicarbonate. The major part are bicarbonate-calcium, and the presents of calcium ads a lovely flavor to these waters. Usually are for hydrophilic therapies; the more concentrated ones for baths, showers, vaginal and rectal irrigations. Mostly, they are suitable for athletes to replenish mineral loss.
Carbonated Waters
They contain bicarbonate in various forms. Mostly are bicarbonate-calcium. The calcium gives a lovely flavor to these waters. Administrated by drink, but also by balneotherapy(immersion baths), showers, vaginal and rectal irrigations. At thermal baths, they help to balance the circulation.
Radioactive Waters
Contain traces of radioactive substances (radon) and help to balance the nervous system. They are used through: drink, inhalations, vaginal irrigations, balneotherapy (immersion baths) and mud therapy.
Bromine and Iodine are marine minerals with great potential.
Containing chlorides of sodium and other minerals in different concentration levels.
Administered by: balneotherapy (immersion baths), muds, inhalation and irrigations.
Great for healing the respiratory difficulties.
